Vaucluse, Diamond Bay Reserve

new south wales

I personally like to spend a day out chilling at watson bay area, though, my partner said he wanted to visit other suburb / other park nearby. Thus, I did some research and found some info and pics of diamond bay reserve. Legit. It’s so beautiful! So we pack our backpack and decided to check it out the next day.

🌤 Sunday, June 25th, 18’c / perfect weather 🌤

Lucky the sun was out, and it’s not so windy. We stop by at room10 cafe for a quick brunch and a cup of soy flat white.

Then, we head out straight to diamond bay reserve! We took the train to bondi junction and catched 386 (or 387 bus, either one works..)

Direction from Bondi Junction Station. bondi junction stand C for 386 bus, stop at vaucluse, New South Hd rd opp Old South Hd Rd. Walk down through the end of young street, passed by the cemetery.

and….

tadaaaa

 Happy sunday! X

NSW 2000, “The Rocks”

new south wales

Its been my fourth year living here in Sydney and the rocks has always been one of my favourite place to wander around.. There is just always something to see/do around from dessert shop, luxurious retail, weekend stall markets to the museum.

My kind of day spend at The Rocks, normally gone by visiting Museum of Contemporary Arts as my number one stop. It publishes many artist from around the world and it keeps changing occasionally so there is always a reason to visit.

Then followed by strolling around the suburb and the (weekend) market. The suburb itself is full of history, covered by stone walls everywhere, it’s charming indeed. As you walk around, you can see a million dollar view of harbour bridge and opera house as it is surrouded by the harbour. (And it is actually located around the corner of circular quay public transport).

The weekend market stalls cover a lot of range, from food to clothes, jewelry, arts and so on. Trust me, it would be hard to come out empty handed.

Afterwards, I usually visit La Renaissance Patisserie for my sweet tooth craving 😜. They sell delicious french pastries and cakes. Worth to try.

Afternoon Walk

new south wales

As I previously lived in a small town in a Kent County called Canterbury, I wasn’t really get used to walk much before I arrived in Sydney. Canterbury is indeed a very compact city compared to Sydney and walking seems do able from city area to uphill campus.

Therefore, wen I first step my foot in Sydney, was surprised by the distance between one suburb to another is actually quite far away. Though after few years living down under, I can surely say that it is actually a great way to get around as we can see many different aspects and a closer look of Sydney.  (And on top of that, we are having a better healthy life) 😁

  • These pictures below was taken during my walk from museum station to macquarie street, intercontinntal in the afternoon.

Lunch break is over, lets get back to business

Nb; road closure at george st

Ready set go: museum station

Manly to Shelly beach

new south wales

One of my best favourite walk routes in sydney is from manly to shelly beach. It has a beautiful view overlooking the blue ocean water. Taking a train from city area to circular quay then a 30 min ride by ferry to manly suburb, is very recommended, albeit it is a bit pricey compared to a bus ride.

As you go in and the ferry goes by; imagine you are sitting on the outside deck, and the wind breeze, refreshing indeed. You could close your eyes and relax your mind or simply just enjoying the vantage view of sydney city.

✨Recommended things to do in manly area: snorkeling/swimming at shelly beach, surfing at manly, visit boathouse for a quick snack at shelly beach, visit papi chulo restaurant at manly wharf for bbq platter.
